About the event

The HBSA is excited to bring an encore presentation of the 2026 Ontario Heritage Conference's successful Waterfront Industrial Heritage Bus Tour to members!

Join Jonathan Wetselaar, Vice President, Capital Projects at HOPA Ports, retired museum curator Ian Kerr-Wilson and Sandra Iskandar, Principal at Goldsmith Borgal & Company Ltd. Architects (GBCA), on this bus tour to explore the importance of industry, both then and now, around Hamilton Harbour.

Along the route our tour guides will be highlighting some of Hamilton's historic industrial trail sites and there will be opportunities to pull over for more stories and Q&A (guests will remain on the bus). Guests will have the opportunity to disembark from the bus once we arrive at the Beach Canal Lighthouse and Keeper's Cottage Site, where you will have the chance to take an exterior walk-around and view the recent restoration works.

The Tour will start and end at HOPA Headquarters (605 James St. N.)

  • On-site parking is free and available

  • Boarding will start at 12:45pm

  • The bus will depart promptly at 1:00pm
